Stoney Nakoda ResortThe Stoney Nakoda Casino first opened in 2008, although the hotel wasn't completed until 2009. With its prime location at the foot of the Rockies, the resort is a popular destination for gamblers or anyone who enjoys great scenery. The casino and resort are currently owned by Stoney Tribal Administration and managed by Stagewest Hospitality. When you consider how close the property is to both Calgary and Banff, it's easy to see why it belongs on your radar.

When it comes to visiting a casino resort, this's a place that should be on everyone’s bucket list. The casino floor is rich in games and the decadent rooms don’t get much better. Couple in the breathtaking scenery and you might not want to leave. Golf enthusiasts should book a spot at the golf simulator. Children will love the game room complete with PS4s and an Xbox. Getting There

Whether you're heading from Calgary or Banff, Stoney Nakoda is a half an hour away in light traffic.

Visitors from Calgary should follow Highway 1 West until the AB 40-exit and turn left onto Highway 40. You'll see the Stoney Nakoda Resort on your left.

Visitors from Banff can follow Highway 1 East until the AB 40-exit and turn right onto Highway 40. The Stoney Nakoda Resort will be on your left.

Entry Requirements

The Stoney Nakoda Casino is free to enter but you must be 18 years or older to gamble in Alberta. Just make sure you bring valid government photo identification; two is better.
